  • the historical context of the Talmud
  • definitions of key terms
  • how key phrases and structures are used within the Talmud
  • how to use Talmudic reference books
  • the basic outline of the page of the Talmud and how to use the resources on the daf (page)

Deep Understanding (and Reasoning skill) of:
  • the role which the Talmud plays in our modern Jewish lives
  • specific concepts around the celebration of Pesach and other Jewish traditions

Skills to:
  • learn a page of the Talmud
  • use reference material and the resources on the page of the Talmud to help analyze and explain the material in the Talmud
